Bruce Springsteen Selling His Rumson Home

The Boss has sold off yet another of his Rumson properties.

RUMSON, NJ - The Boss is moving out of Rumson. Bruce Springsteen sold his Rumson estate on Bellevue Avenue to Peter and Meghann Marturano, according to a notice filed with the Monmouth County Clerk and first reported by redbankgreen.com. The Marturanos already own another home in Rumson just two houses down.

"The house has been quietly on the market for the prior six months," Rumson Mayor John Ekdahl told the Absury Park Press.

Springsteen has not resided in Rumson for some time, although just a little over a decade ago, he was a regular in the neighborhood, often seen giving out Halloween candy and his children attended Rumson Country Day School. These days his primary residence in New Jersey is a 368-acre farm in Colts Neck horse country.

The barn at 7 The Summit in Holmdel, where Springsteen lived and recorded in the late '70s and early '80s.

Born in Long Branch, Springsteen has trampled up and down Monmouth County: Springsteen bought the Rumson house at the corner of Bellevue and Ridge Road in 1983, right before he embarked on his "Born in the USA" tour. Before that, he lived in a farmhouse in Holmdel, where he began recording "Darkness on the Edge of Town." Springsteen lived in the Holmdel farmhouse in the late '70s and early '80s and the E Street Band would often come over and practice there. That farm is on the market today and you can tour it here.

In May of 2016, as Patch reported, Springsteen sold a property adjacent to his Rumson home to Oklahoma City Thunder guard/Villanova star Randy Foye. Foye, who was born and raised in Newark, previously had a home on the Navesink River in Middletown.
