Rumson's Median Home Price Tops $1 Million

When you're talking real estate, blogger Len Dunikoski says that the status of the market is totally dependent on local variables.

For instance, he says that when people ask him about the market he tells them that "when you read about real estate in the national papers, you get a nationwide overview, but you don't get any information about YOUR town."

Dunikoski has put together a table of median sales prices for 20 towns in Monmouth County, citing Rumson as the town with the highest median sales price at more than $1 million and Red Bank's at about $300,000. Fair Haven's median sales price falls somewhere in between. But Sea Bright isn't even on the list because so few homes were sold post-Hurricane Sandy.
