Bobbi Kristina Laid To Rest Next To Her Mother's Grave In Union County

Bobbi Kristina Brown, 22, was buried next to her mother, Whitney Houston, on Monday.

Bobbi Kristina Brown was finally laid to rest next to her mother, Whitney Houston, in Westfield’s Fairview Cemetery on Monday.

Although the road leading into Fairview Cemetery was blocked off by police during the private ceremony, some gathered outside of the cemetery with photos and waves for Brown’s family as they drove in to pay their final respects, according to The SunHerald.

News vans began to posted themselves in front of the cemetery located on East Broad Street last week in preparation for the funeral.

Residents who visited the cemetery within that past week reported to nj.com that they were approached “cordially” by security guards watching over Whitney Houston’s grave. Despite media coverage of where Bobbi Kristina Brown’s final resting place would be, township officials said they had not received word that she would be buried in Westfield at that time, according to reports.

Recent media reports said the family of Bobbi Kristina Brown confirmed she would be buried next to her mother in Westfield’s Fairview Cemetery.

The 22-year-old’s funeral was held in Atlanta, and then her body was flown to New Jersey where her mother, a Newark native, was born and raised, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Bobbi Kristina died Sunday at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga. She had been at a rehab facility since March after being cared for previously at Emory University Hospital, according to nj.com.

Authorities said an autopsy will be needed to evaluate what led to the death of the daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown, according to the report.

The only daughter of Houston, who died three years ago, was found unresponsive on Jan. 31 and had been moved to hospice care recently.

The medical examiner did not release a timeframe for the autopsy, only saying additional lab testing might take several weeks.
