Darby Road Pub Fully Reopens After Coronavirus Shutdown

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Darby Road Pub fully reopened its inside and outside dining on Thursday after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus on Sept. 25.

The restaurant worked with the Rahway Health Department and all of their staff have been tested, self-isolated, and contact traced.

"We are back and ready to serve the community once again," the restaurant shared on its Facebook page. "Happy to report everyone is healthy and doing well. There were NO issues with any of the guests and for that we are very thankful."

The popular Scotch Plains restaurant, at 450 Park Ave., closed on Sept. 25 after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 and then partially reopened for take-out, delivery and outdoor dining on Oct. 1.

Now that precautions have been taken the restaurant is now offering heated outdoor seating, heated sidewalk seating, indoor dining options, pick-up and delivery.

"We took this issue very seriously and we are happy having put it behind us," the restaurant stated. "We look forward to serving you all again! We will all get through this troubling time as a community!"

As of Thursday, Scotch Plains is reported 399 total positive coronavirus cases with 188 cases recovered. There have also been a total of 15 deaths reported.
