Detailed Rain Forecast, Flood Watch Issued For Union County

Rain will be hitting the Union County area on Thursday and will continue through Friday which may cause possible flooding.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A flood watch has been issued for Union County and will begin on Friday at 1 a.m. through Saturday at 1 a.m. by the National Weather Service.

The watch was issued due to a strong low pressure that will hit the area Thursday night through Friday, causing a widespread rainfall of 2 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts, according to the NWS.

The Union County area was already heavily hit with rain this past weekend causing grounds to be saturated. As a result, the upcoming rain will result in flooding of roadways and areas of poor drainage, as well as the potential for significant river flooding.
