SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation’s annual Dollars for Students Weekend fundraising campaign is returning to local businesses this month.

The annual fundraising effort, which has raised $4 million for students since 1967, sees student volunteers stationed at locations throughout the community, where patrons of local businesses can drop an extra dollar or two when heading out to the soccer fields or while grabbing a morning coffee.

“Our annual Dollars for Students campaign is the longest standing fundraising effort since the Foundation’s inception,” said Cathy Hirschhorn, Foundation Trustee and lead organizer of the community-wide fundraising effort. “We are grateful for the community support from the dollars and cents collected in our tin cans and the businesses that will be hosting us this year.”
