WESTFIELD, NJ - A teen driver from Fanwood crashed a pickup truck into a Westfield park Friday night, authorities said.

The 17-year-old driver reportedly lost control of a 2010 Toyota Pickup after speeding and turning into Mindowaskin Park, Westfield police Sgt. Michael Walsh told Patch.

The vehicle then jumped curb and struck a light post, garbage can and a tree, Walsh said. No injuries were reported.

Summonses were issued to the teen for failure to report an accident, careless driving and failure to show proof of insurance, TAPinto Westfield reported. One resident told the publication the teen was allegedly speeding alongside other vehicles through the park, with the drivers reportedly squirting water guns at each other.

The name of the youth was not released by police.
