Funeral Set For Fanwood Rescue Squad Member
The visitation will be on Wednesday and funeral mass on Thursday for Robert Kruthers, 94, of Fanwood.
FANWOOD, NJ — Funeral arrangements have been set for Robert Kruthers, who helped thousands of people as a member of the Fanwood Rescue Squad since 1957.
The visitation will be on Wednesday at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave. in Scotch Plains from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church in Scotch Plains.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, that donations and contributions be made in Bob's name to the Fanwood Rescue Squad, 123 Watson Road, Fanwood, NJ 07023.

Kruthers lived in Fanwood since 1954 and provided volunteer service in ways that have touched three generations of Fanwood and Scotch Plains residents, according to Fanwood spokesman Tom Kranz.
