GALLERY: Fanwood Green Fair Draws Locals

The Fanwood Green Fair featured a Telsa, workshops on rain barrels and composting, solar vendors and more.

FANWOOD, NJ — The Fanwood Green Fair held on the grounds of Fanwood Borough Hall on Saturday, July 23 had locals learning about how to environmentally friendly.

The Green Fair, organized by Fanwood's Green Team, featured workshops on rain barrels and composting, solar vendors, exhibits on the Fanwood Nature Center and Environmental Commission and information on the new curbside recycling program from the Plainfield Municipal Utilities Authority.

The fair was kicked off by Councilmen Tom Kranz and Kevin Boris. The Green Fair sought to earn more points for Fanwood's Sustainable Jersey Certification to push it to the silver level.

The Tesla was brought by Michael Thwaite of Warren, a 2010 Tesla Roadster, all electric, that gets 240 miles per charge.
