UNION COUNTY, NJ — The weekend is here! Before you head out the door, make sure to grab an umbrella and jacket as the National Weather Service is predicting cold temperatures and rain for the first weekend in December.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 44. North wind around 5 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Rain. Areas of fog after 10 p.m. Temperature rising to around 48 by 5 a.m. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain before 9 a.m., then rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9 a.m. and noon, then a chance of rain and thunderstorms after noon. Areas of fog. High near 59. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before 9 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
