Restaurant Week To Benefit Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarships

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation is partnering with local restaurants to offer Restaurant Week while raising money for Dollars for Students scholarships.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 18, participating restaurants will donate 5 percent of their profits to the foundation (the purchase of alcoholic beverages is excluded).

The Dollars for Students scholarships provide student residents of Scotch Plains and Fanwood with scholarship assistance in their pursuit of higher education.

"We are excited to work with our local restaurants to host, what we hope will become, an annual restaurant week event," said Joy Donaldson, Foundation Trustee, and lead organizer of the event. "The participating restaurants will be providing generous support to this endeavor. We look forward to seeing our friends in the community dining out and enjoying some of the area’s best culinary experiences while supporting the Foundation."

Dine-in, pickup, and direct from establishment delivery orders qualify. Orders via third-party delivery services such as UberEATS, Grub Hub, DoorDash, etc., are not eligible for this fundraising event.

To participate in the Restaurant Week, simply mention to the server or cashier that you are dining out in support of SPF Restaurant Week and the SPF Scholarship Foundation or show a copy of the Restaurant Week flyer found on the website spfscholarshipfoundation.org.

Monday, Nov. 15 - Stagehouse Tavern, 366 Park Ave., Scotch Plains

Tuesday, Nov. 16 - Nick’s Pizza and Deli, 42 S. Martine Ave, Fanwood; and Sheelen’s Crossing, 200 South Ave, Fanwood

Wednesday, Nov. 17 - Stagehouse Tavern, 366 Park Ave., Scotch Plains; Darby Road Public House, 450 Park Ave., Scotch Plains; and Houdini Pizza Lab, 25 South Ave., Fanwood

Thursday, Nov. 18 - Yummies, 2581 US-22 West, Scotch Plains; and Max’s Pizza and Bistro, 381 Park Ave., Scotch Plains.

The Foundation has awarded over $3.5 million to deserving students since 1967. These scholarship awards are made possible by the generosity of local businesses and members of the community and beyond.

"The cancellation and postponement of so many community events caused by the pandemic had an effect on our fundraising efforts. In the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, we look forward to this event supporting our local businesses as well as the many students deserving of scholarship support," said Foundation President, Michelle Wywra.
