Scotch Plains Event Planner Offers 'Jaw-Dropping Experience'

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — When the coronavirus hit it put a damper on plans causing many to cancel or downsize their special events. Adapting to the new reality Scotch Plains event planner Amanda Hudes has created a "jaw-dropping experience" to allow others to still celebrate any milestone event without cutting corners.

"My new service is called, 'The Experience.' There is no need to sacrifice style and excitement because of size restrictions," Hudes said.

"The Experience," is an event of sensory, excitement and jaw-dropping décor that can accommodate up to 50 guests.

Hudes, who founded her event planning business "Smiling Through Chaos" four years ago, came up with "The Experience" as soon as the quarantine hit.

"I saw a need and I didn't want to just offer a virtual or small events," Hudes said. "I really still want people to have an event where their mouths drop open."

Hudes stressed that "The Experience" is not just a down-sized event or micro wedding. Instead it tells a story through visual effects as well as through sound, taste, and smell. Some examples include an elaborate floral display or singing waiters.

"It's about the ambiance, the artistic feel, the magic," Hudes said.

Hudes will plan the entire event by customizing it to a specific theme or feel the client is looking for. It is available for all events including: wedding, bar / bat mitzvah, sweet 16, big birthday, anniversary, or statement-making dinner party.

Additionally, Hudes said the process is very streamlined which allows her to take on last minute events such as weddings for this summer or fall.
