Social Media Threat At Union Co. High School Prompts Lockdown

No threats were found after police searched the school, according to Union County officials.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Union County Vocational-Technical High School went under lockdown Tuesday morning, following a threat that was made via social media, according to Union County Public Information Officer Kelly Martins.

Martins said the person responsive for the social media post was in custody and interviewed by county police. After the school was thoroughly searched, no threats were located and the lockdown was lifted.

The high school is located at 1776 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains.
