Wind Advisory In Effect For Union County Monday
Winds blowing from west to northwest are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, the NWS reported.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — A wind advisory is in effect from noon on Monday through 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Union County, the National Weather Service announced.
Winds blowing from west to northwest are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
"Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects and may blow down tree limbs and power lines," the NWS reported. "Scattered power outages can be expected."

Additionally, due to heavy rains causing ground saturation, trees and and power lines will be more susceptible to strong winds.
Drivers should be careful when driving as winds could effect driving conditions. Locals should also secure any light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 51 by 5 p.m. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 26 to 31 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Wind chill values between 30 and 35. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. West wind 13 to 16 mph.
Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 63. Light and variable wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.
Thursday: A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62.
Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.
Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.
Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 56.
