RE Development In Oranges Gets ‘Smart Growth’ Award

A mixed-use development project in the Oranges was named among New Jersey Future's "2018 Smart Growth Award Winners."

ORANGE, NJ — There’s growth… then there’s “smart” growth. And the difference between the two is what sets the standard for redevelopment in New Jersey, according to a nonprofit advocacy group.

A real estate project in Orange – the Harvard Printing Company - was recently named among New Jersey Future’s “2018 Smart Growth Award Winners.”

According to New Jersey Future, the Harvard Printing Company is a "transit-oriented development that combines new construction with a repurposed historic Art Deco factory building into mixed-income housing."

“Redevelopment has become increasingly the norm for how New Jersey will accommodate its growth, and demand for our older, already-built places continues to rise," said Olivia Glenn, South Jersey metro regional manager for the New Jersey Conservation Foundation and chairwoman of this year's Smart Growth Awards jury.
