2 Roads Closed In Summit Tuesday Due To Gas Pipe Replacement Project

The PSE&G project is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on progress over the winter.

SUMMIT, NJ — The PSE&G project to replace gas pipes throughout Summit is currently underway, and two roads will be closed until 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tulip Street is closed between Mountain Avenue and Watchung Place, and West Lane is closed between Rotary Lane and Dale Drive, according to the city.

Work is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on project progress over the winter.

PSE&G crews will be replacing mains and services on the following streets in Summit over the next week:

  • Badeau Avenue
  • Euclid Avenue between Beechwood Road and Summit AvenueHartley Road between Butler Parkway and Woodland AvenueOx Bow Lane between Summit Avenue and Fernwood Road
  • Whittredge Road between Hobart Avenue and Essex Road
  • Little Wolf Road between Drum Hill Drive and Tanglewood Drive
  • West Lane between Rotary Lane and Dale Drive

Road closures and detours will be in effect, and Summit Police will be onsite to direct traffic.

Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., weather permitting.
