Car Accident, Truck Stuck Under Bridge Prompts Summit Road Closure

SUMMIT, NJ — A section of Passaic Avenue is closed in Summit Monday morning, according to police.

The road is closed between Beekman Road and Constantine Place due to an earlier car accident and a truck that is now stuck under the railroad bridge, Summit Police announced at around 8:26 a.m.

A detour is now in place. Police say to avoid the area.

Update 9:30 a.m.: Public Information Officer Amy Cairns said no injuries were reported at the scene and the truck was removed from under the bridge.

Cairns said the road will be open again shortly.
