Overnight Detours Planned In Summit Due To Fire HQ Utility Work

SUMMIT, NJ - Utility work at the new fire headquarters in Summit have prompted overnight detours this week, authorities said.

The detours will begin Jan. 30 through Feb. 3 and will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., Summit municipal officials said in a statement. During the detour period, Broad Street will be closed westbound with a detour onto Walnut Street.

A single lane will be open for vehicle traffic eastbound, officials added. Overlook Medical Center access will not be impacted.

Police officers will be at the scene for traffic management, the city said.
