Fulfill Awarded Grant from Bank of America to Aid in Food Distribution

Funding will help Fulfill make food available to 100,000 food insecure neighbors

Fulfill, the food bank dedicated to ending hunger in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, has received a $50,000 grant from Bank of America (BofA). The grant will help fight food insecurity by getting nourishing supplies into the hands of those who need it most, through any one of Fulfill’s 300 pantry partners.

“With the demand for food in Monmouth and Ocean Counties up 65 percent over last year, we greatly appreciate the support we have received from Bank of America,” said Triada Stampas, Fulfill President and CEO. “Through monetary support, food or volunteer hours, by working together we can address and tackle the ever-growing needs of our communities – with the goal of creating a diverse supply of food and a network of distribution that will hold strong heading into our busiest time of the year.”

The grant is part of Bank of America's philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families.

In addition to their monetary support, Bank of America employees recently volunteered to distribute food at Fulfill’s weekly Pop-the-Trunk food distribution, which serves over 225 families each week by providing both perishable and non-perishable food items.

“We are grateful for Fulfill’s tireless work to ensure our neighbors in Monmouth and Ocean Counties have access to nourishing food,” said Alberto Garofalo, president, Bank of America New Jersey. “As the demand and cost for food continues to rise, Fulfill remains committed to win the battle against hunger.”
