LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced earlier this month that the transportation and infrastructure project in Long Branch passed the House of Representatives. The project was included in the INVEST America Act, an infrastructure bill that invests in roads, bridges, and transit.

The $13 million project for the NJ Transit station in Long Branch will see the railroad station turned intermodal by bringing buses, trollies, taxis, and ride-sharing services to the station with an indoor waiting room. The money will also be used to build a new pedestrian bridge west of the station platform to reconnect the station with the rest of the town.

“These projects are important investments in our transportation system’s safety, efficiency, and reliability for the region’s residents and tourists. Members of Congress know our districts better than anyone else and can ensure that federal dollars actually reach the areas that need them,” Congressman Pallone said in a statement.
