Jackknifed Truck, Debris Spill In Warren Causes Major Delays Wednesday

WARREN, NJ — Heavy delays continue to plague the evening commute on Interstate 78 West following a jackknifed tractor-trailer and debris spill in Warren on Wednesday.

The crash was first reported at milepost 41.2 near Exit 40 - for County Route 531 in Warren Township at 12:12 p.m., according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez

A tractor-trailer went off the road to the left and hit the guardrail. As a result, all lanes were shut down for clean up of debris and fuel spill, said Goez.

Lanes were closed for several hours for the cleanup. No injuries were reported.

As a result, heavy traffic stretched on I-78 Express Lanes westbound West of Exit 48 - NJ 24 West (Springfield Twp) to I-78 at Exit 40 - CR 531 (Warren Twp) with a current travel time of 60 to 65 minutes, according to 511NJ.
