Ramp Still Closed, Driver Hospitalized After Truck Overturns On I-78 In Somerset County

The ramp for Exit 36 on Interstate 78 East remains closed as of 5 p.m. for emergency construction following the overturned truck.

WARREN, NJ — The driver of a tractor-trailer that overturned on an Interstate 78 exit ramp is hospitalized and the ramp remains closed as of 5 p.m. on Monday for emergency construction.

The crash was reported at 7:18 a.m. on Interstate 78 east to exit 36 in Warren Township, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan.

The tractor-trailer was driving east and overturned while exiting on the ramp, said Marchan.

The driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available at the moment.
