Traffic Pattern Near Willowbrook Mall Changing
Lanes on east and westbound Route 46 will close as part of a road project this week.
WAYNE, NJ — Lanes on both sides of Route 46 near the Willowbrook Mall will be closed this week as part of a roadwork project, state officials announced.
From 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. weekdays this week alternating lanes on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway will be closed so the highway can be re-striped, the state Department of Transportation announced.
From 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday, one lane on Route 46 west will be closed. A construction barrier will be installed so the center median can be worked on for several weeks.

The $40 million project calls for the widening of both sides of Route 46 from two lanes to three to improve safety and ease traffic congestion. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2022.
