Déjà Vu: West Orange Library Has A New Official Opening Date

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange library’s new location has an official opening date … again.

On Tuesday, the Friends of the West Orange Public Library announced that the highly anticipated new facility at 10 Rooney Circle will be open for business at its regular hours on Monday, Dec. 11.

According to a statement from the library’s board, staff and director Dave Cubie:

“We look forward to seeing you, we know you will love all of the new accommodations including an expanded children’s area with its own programming room, a huge teen area, study rooms, extra meeting rooms, beautiful views of the surrounding hills, the outdoor patio and so much more. It’s been a lot of hard work for the library, the township, and all of the contractors, but when you see it, we think you will agree it’s been worth it.”

The road to reopening has been marked with delays; the original target opening date was last spring. Town officials previously blamed the delays on supply chain issues that created a domino effect.
