West Orange Swears In 8 Probationary Firefighters At Town Meeting

Mayor Susan McCartney and Fire Chief Anthony Vecchio swore the recruits into duty at the meeting.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Eight probationary firefighters were sworn in this week at the West Orange Township Council meeting.

The town’s newest probationary firefighters are: Vincenzo Abbattista, Shai Bialer, Patrick Bolan, Shane Kistner, Raymond Larsen, Frank Moleski, Christopher Parsons and Neftaly Rivera.

Mayor Susan McCartney and Fire Chief Anthony Vecchio swore the recruits into duty at the meeting. Each firefighter had their new badge pinned on them by family members in attendance.

According to a township news release:

“These individuals have successfully completed rigorous training and demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the West Orange community. Their enthusiasm and dedication are valuable assets and were recognized and welcomed by the Township Council while posing for a photo to memorialize the occasion.”

The addition of these firefighters brings the total number of West Orange Fire Department personnel to 86 uniformed members, according to the township.
