Woodbridge Big Lots Store Will Be Closing

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The Big Lots store at 471 Green Street in Woodbridge will be closing.

The Big Lots company announced the news about their Woodbridge location here on their website. A store employee at the Green Street location confirmed the store will close, but the said Big Lots did not give them a closing date yet.

The store is currently offering 20-percent off sales.

Big Lots announced this August it will close 300 stores across the U.S.; the company has 1,300 stores in the United States. So far, the Woodbridge location is the first New Jersey store that has been identified for closure.

Big Lots posted a net loss of $205 million for the first quarter of 2024, prompting the company in a regulatory filing to warn that it has "substantial doubts" it can continue as a functioning business.

Big Lots sells discount furniture and some food items. Big Lots said it is closing stores as consumers are cutting back on spending.
