Middlesex County Slow-Pitch Softball Leagues Forming Now

Nothing like thinking about softball in the dead of winter! Teams are being sought now for the Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Office’s Adult Slow Pitch Softball Leagues, with sessions planned for both Spring and Fall. Those interested can register now and begin play as early as March 2017.

“Come out and play ball with other County residents, make new friends, and rediscover your love of the game in these extremely popular leagues,” said Freeholder Charles E. Tomaro, chair of the Infrastructure Management Committee.

Registration is now open. The Spring leagues will begin play in late March, and their team divisions are: Sunday Men’s, Monday Co-ed, Tuesday Men’s and Thursday Co-ed. New for 2017 will be a Monday Spring/Summer Co-ed "B" League.

Fall leagues will begin to play in late August. Their divisions are: Monday Men’s; Tuesday Men’s; Wednesday Co-ed and Thursday Co-ed.

Field locations include Thomas Edison Park in Edison and Warren Park in Woodbridge. Some games may also be played at Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy.

Please be aware of all league fees, as well as the $100 forfeit deposit (which is refundable).

· Sunday Leagues: $275 plus $100 refundable forfeit deposit, for a total of $375.

· Weekday Leagues: $325 plus $100 refundable forfeit deposit, For a total of $425.

Umpire fees are $24 per team, per game, and are payable in cash at the field.

Teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All league fees, deposits and applications are due at the time of registration. Teams will not be accepted without payment and application.

The deadline to enter teams for the Spring season is March 10. The deadline for Fall season is Aug. 4. Space is very limited and teams are accepted on a first come/first serve basis only.
