Burglar Breaks Into 5 Astoria Apartment Buildings: Police

Grooming products, a $2,200 rent check and a Stashlogix smell-proof case were among the items the man is accused of stealing, police said.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Police are looking for a man who broke into five Astoria apartment buildings at the beginning of the month.

Beard-grooming products, a $2,200 rent check, CBD oil and a Stashlogix odor-blocking case meant for carrying marijuana were among the items the man stole during the break-ins, according to the police.

The unidentified burglar first struck on March 1, when he broke into an apartment building near 33rd Street and 28th Avenue by prying open the lobby door and stole a package of grooming products, then robbed an apartment near 31st Street and 28th Road after getting in through the side door.

Later the same day, he got inside a building near 29th Street and 31st Avenue and took a check that a tenant had left in front of her apartment door for her landlord, police said.

Two days later, on March 3, security cameras captured the same man breaking into a building near 18th Street and 27th Avenue but failing to get into any of the apartments, according to police.

He struck again several hours later, this time at an apartment near 31st Drive and 23rd Street, where he took $150, police said.

The NYPD released images of the suspected burglar Monday night.
