HUDSON VALLEY, NY — This special holiday 1-Tank Adventure to Santa's workshop will require both petrol and a tender car full of Christmas magic.

All North Pole-bound pilgrims have to do is get themselves and their youngest Santa Claus believers to the Catskill Mountain Railroad Co. in Kingston. The engineers, elves and sugar plum fairies will take care of the hard part of the polar expedition.

Any other time of year, a train journey north of the Arctic Circle takes days, but thanks to the magic of Christmas, the Catskill Christmas Express will take passengers on a 60-minute trip through the Catskill Forest to Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole. The ride takes just long enough to satisfy the most skeptical of children that there really is more at the North Pole than just polar bears and arctic foxes.
