3-Week Closure Of State Route 121 In Westchester Will Start Monday
After a false start, the major project is getting underway. Detours using US Highway 202, Star Ridge Road and Bloomer Road will be posted.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — After weeks of delays, we will soon finally find out if the bite of the planned State Route 121 closure is worse than its bark.
The NYS Department of Transportation announced that State Route 121 is expected to close for three weeks, between Cottage Lane and Short Street in the Town of North Salem.
The closure will start Monday, August 1, at 9 a.m. and continue through Sunday, August 21 for bridge work and will be weather-dependent.

Drivers are advised to follow the posted detours using U.S. Highway 202, Star Ridge Road and Bloomer Road as an alternate.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a drivers license suspension.
