Burglars Rob Bedford Pharmacy, Drugstore In Southeast Was Also Hit

Bedford police are working with other agencies to determine if the break-in is related to a string of pharmacy burglaries in the area.

BEDFORD, NY — A plague of pharmacy break-ins in the region has come to Bedford.

On Monday, shortly before 4:30 a.m, officers were dispatched to the Bedford Pharmacy located in Bedford Village for a commercial burglar alarm activation. The front glass door of the store was smashed and the burglars entered the building, stealing different types of medicine. The thieves fled before the cops arrived.

The Bedford Police Department’s Detective Bureau is investigating this case and said they are working with other law enforcement agencies to determine whether it is related to other pharmacy burglaries that have occurred recently in the area.

A nearly identical break-in unfolded in the Town of Southeast at JNR Pharmacy around 3:45 a.m. that same morning, according to the Putnam County Sheriff.
