Christmas Tree Farms In The Bedford Area: Your 2021 Guide

A Christmas tree shortage means families should get a tree earlier than usual.

BEDFORD, NY— As the U.S. recovers from the coronavirus pandemic and looks back on the hardship of last year’s holiday season — which involved a lot of social distancing — families in 2021 will reunite and hunt for the perfect Christmas tree.

Did you know that some 350 million Christmas trees are growing in all 50 U.S. states, and 25 million are cut and purchased each year?

The American Christmas Tree Association advises shoppers to get a tree earlier than usual this year. The supply of trees will be tight due to supply chain delays and a poor growing season in the Pacific Northwest.

We look forward to this Christmas season with some great lessons learned from last year. Our reservation system, which we implemented in 2019 and also used exclusively in 2020 was a successful way for us to improve the experience for our guests, so we plan to continue with reservations being required for the 2021 Christmas Tree cutting season. With us limiting the number of visitors last year, we cut less from the field, so there are more large tree options this year, with several different species now reaching our target height of 6'-8'+. Check out our inventory page updated in November for more info on our species and availability.
Last year we marked trees that were available to cut. We did this to reduce discussions with customers....improving our Social Distancing efforts. While marking trees helped people understand the species and size they were buying, it also made some customers feel restricted in what they could cut. This year, we will return to our policy that you can cut any tree that is not in one of our growing beds....where we develop our trees into larger transplants.
