Westchester Oratorio Society (“WOS”) is thrilled to announce that David Štech has been appointed both Artistic Director and Conductor.

Husband of our accompanist Mun-Tzung Wong, and close associate of our former Conductor, Ben Niemczyk, David Štech is already very familiar with WOS. His extensive experience leading professional and volunteer choral groups and his vocal coaching and pedagogic background make him uniquely qualified to lead WOS into its next chapter. Over the course of his career, he has led more than 14 choirs, 12 professional orchestras and has been involved in over 60 productions with 15 opera companies [www.david-stech.com]. This Fall WOS will be presenting the oratorio King David, composed by Arthur Honneger, to be sung in English.

As an amateur choir, we welcome new singers and do not require auditions. Rehearsals are held from 7:00-8:30 on Tuesday evenings in the Garden Room of the Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah, a short walk from the Metro-North station. Rehearsals will commence on Sept. 10th and will continue through the performance which will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco on Saturday, November 23rd. All interested singers are encouraged to participate, and no preregistration is necessary. For more information contact [email protected]. Please join us!
