Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR cheered on local veterans at their send-off with Hudson Valley Honor Flight Mission 33 to Washington D.C. This flight included veterans from World War II and the Korean War, Cold War, and Vietnam. The send-off began at 6:15 am at Westchester County Airport with the veterans arriving at a private airport hangar accompanied by a motorcade and greeted by a cheering crowd waving U.S. Flags. The veterans departed on their flight to Washington, D.C. where their day would include stops at the Iwo Jima, Korean War, Vietnam, and World War II memorials as well as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. A well-deserved and memorable day for our nation's heroes!
