Father And Son Motorcycle Ride In Westchester Ends With Fatal Crash

BEDFORD, NY — A Sunday morning father and son ride ended in tragedy, according to New York State troopers.

Just after 9:30 a.m., state police were called to I-684 northbound, near Exit 4 in Bedford, for a report of a motorcycle crash.

Investigators believe that Kevin Castillo Rayo, 21, and his father, Nilson E. Castillo Calderon, 46, both of Flushing, were traveling on separate motorcycles on I-684, when Castillo Calderon lost control of his motorcycle for an unknown reason.

Troopers said that Castillo Calderon veered off the road and struck a guardrail. He died at the scene. State police officials said that the investigation is continuing.
