Firefighters Race To Scene Of Alarm, It Was Just Jax Horsing Around

After allegedly triggering the false alarm with his teeth, the equine scofflaw refused to cooperate with fire officials investigating.

Jax will escape the consequences of his action, but pulling a false alarm could mean being saddled with hefty fines.

BEDFORD, NY — When the Bedford Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at a horse farm on Guard Hill Road, they didn't know what to expect when they arrived, but they didn't expect this.

The fire alarm activation was from a pull station, meaning someone physically pulled an alarm to set it off, alerting the fire department directly.

After checking the entire system, fire crews found a pull station in the activated position. The only one who was anywhere near the station was Jax the horse, a resident at the farm. Fire officials suspect he was able to reach out from his stall and bite down on the alarm to set it off.

Even though he wasted fire department time and resources, it's impossible to stay mad at Jax. (Bedford Fire Department)

"He refused to answer any questions at the scene," fire officials said in a tongue-in-cheek social media post describing the unusual call.
