Injured Rushed To Hospitals After 2-Car Collision In North Salem

Multiple agencies responded to the Hardscraabble Road crash involving two cars and seven occupants, with serious injuries reported.

NORTH SALEM, NY — A collision on a road that gets busy this time of year, with the last leaf peepers of the season and fall visitors to pumpkin patches and orchards, left several injured.

The Croton Falls Fire Department says they were dispatched on Sunday afternoon, along with the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corp and Westchester EMS, to Hardscrabble Road and Fields Lane, for a motor vehicle accident with multiple injuries.

The department says that Car 2071 arrived on the scene and found two vehicles involved with seven patients. Additional assistance was then requested from an additional medic and Basic Life Support units, a second Westchester EMS medic, 7211, 8011, Somers EMS, American Medical Response, and Westchester County EMS 11.

CFFD personnel assisted with basic life support interventions for all patients involved until additional EMS units arrived on the scene.

The patients were then transported to area trauma centers. Rescue 28 and Engine 149’s crews remained on the scene until the two vehicles were removed from the roadway.

The units operating at the scene were Car 2071, 2072, R28, E149 and U28. Mutual aid was provided by North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Westchester EMS, Somers EMS, American Medical Response, Westchester County EMS 11, and the North Salem Police Department.
