Tis the season to take a look at the top-ranked high school sports programs in the country and more importantly right here in New York.

Niche.com, which reviews school systems across the country based on data and surveys, has compiled the “2016 Districts with the Best Sports in New York” list.

In New York the top 5 high school sports programs are Victor Senior High School at No.1, followed by Garden City High School, Manhasset Secondary School, East Ridge Senior High School and Yorktown High School clocks in at No. 5.

Yorktown’s parents and students gave the high school’s sports program a 4.2 out of 5 on the Niche.com survey. With 28 sports offered, half of the male students and 41 percent of the female students participate in a sport, Niche.com said.

Rye and Bronxville high schools also cracked the Top 10.

Nationwide, the top 5 high schools sports programs are: No. 1 Glenwood High School in Illinois; No. 2, East Grand Rapids Public School in Michigan, No. 3, Summit Senior High Schools in New Jersey, No. 4, Souhegan Cooperative High School in New Hampshire, and No. 5.
