John Jay High School’s four robotics teams — The MOB, The Leftovers, Meganight and Straw Hat Robotics — applied for the grant together and will share the funding.

"You do an incredible job," said Mark Harris, Applications Engineer and Education Specialist for Allendale Machinery, who delivered the check on behalf of the Gene Haas Foundation. "We hope to see you do the same thing as last year."

"This funding helped us to go to Worlds last year because we were able to get parts quickly," robotics teacher Jonathan Peter said to the students gathered in the robotics lab for the December 5 check presentation. "That agility was because of this sponsorship."

Peter added that the grant will also help elevate the prominence of STEM in the Katonah-Lewisboro Schools' community. "I am incredibly proud of our robotics teams, the parents and school administrators for their contributions and enthusiasm," said Peter. "Let's channel this support into crafting another outstanding robot and continue to inspire those around us with the wonders of STEM!"
