BEDFORD, NY — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near Bedford for 2023.

We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening near Bedford so you can start planning now.

Peekskill: Fourth of July schedule, Tuesday, July 4. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Peekskill Volunteer Fire Association in downtown Peekskill. Parade route is Crompond Road to South Division Street, South Division to First Street, First Street to Union Avenue, Union Avenue to South Street, South Street to South Division, South Division Street to Main Street, and Main Street to Broad Street, ending at the Firehouse. At 7 p.m. concert by Ladies of the 80s at the Riverfront with fireworks to follow.

Tarrytown: July 4th Celebration at Pierson Park, Monday, July 4. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be food trucks. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. kids fun zone. Live music will be from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fireworks will begin after dark. Fireworks may be seen from any of the village parks in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.

New Rochelle: July 4: Spark the Sound. Celebrate July 4th in New Rochelle. Grucci, America's First Family of Fireworks, is producing the city of New Rochelle's annual "Spark the Sound" extravaganza — starting at 9 p.m., rain or shine. View from New Ro’s waterfront parks.

Mount Vernon: July 4, 10:30 a.m. St. Paul's Church. The annual Independence Day celebration, featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence and tolling, 13 times, of the historic St. Paul's church bell.

Yonkers: 4th of July Fireworks by Grucci on the downtown waterfront. Music at 7 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Mamaroneck: The 49th Annual Blessing of the Fleet's Parade of Ships at Harbor Island Park will be on July 4, at noon. The awards ceremony will start at 1 p.m. The Fireworks Display in Harbor Island Park will take place on July 4. (Rain date is July 5.) St. Thomas Orchestra Concert at 8 p.m., before the fireworks. The Firemen's Carnival will take place each evening, from June 27 through July 5, in Harbor Island Park.

Larchmont: The Dixie Dandies will be playing July 4, at 7 p.m. in Manor Park. Fireworks will be visible all along the Long Island Sound. No food/drinks allowed.

Rye: Rye Playland will have fireworks on July 4 and September 3.

Port Chester: The 2023 Fireworks Celebration on July 4, sponsored by Neri's Bakery, will take place at Port Chester H.S. Doors will open for performance at 7 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Goshen: Red, White & BOOM! at Legoland New York Resort in Goshen. Monday, July 4. All activities are included in the cost of admission to the resort. For more information, go here.

Poughkeepsie: Don’t miss your chance to see fireworks at eye level from 212 feet above the Hudson River on the World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge. On July 4, Walkway Over the Hudson will be open to ticket holders for an unobstructed view of the City of Poughkeepsie fireworks display. Space is strictly limited at this event and tickets required for all attendees. Children 12 and under are free but must reserve a ticket online in advance for admittance. Tickets sell out every year and will not be available for purchase on-site during the event. Secure your tickets here.

New York City: If you are the stay-at-home type but still want to see fireworks, Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Show 2023 begins at 8 p.m. on NBC and will be streamed on Peacock. There will be stars, music and fireworks from barges in the East River.
