KATONAH, NY — The John Jay Homestead is a great place to get a feel for the historic political struggles that made our country what it is today but a program for the Hudson Valley's littlest explorers will help cultivate an appreciation for our region's natural history as well.

A program, for kids ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, is designed to get young explorers excited about the environment. Each week, kids, their families and experts will explore a different part of the property at John Jay Homestead and complete a take-home activity from the lessons learned that day.

After the class, the Red Barn Discovery Center will be open for imaginative play until 3 p.m.

The eight-week series runs on Tuesdays from May 3, to June 21, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The cost of the program is $80 for members of Friends of John Jay Homestead and $100 for non-members. The class is held rain or shine. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Should the class need to be canceled due to low enrollment, those already registered will be notified 10 days prior to the first scheduled class.
