Local Scout Troops 301 and 154 Explore Block Island

Troop 301 and 154 explored Block Island last weekend, ferrying over, biking to campsites, fishing, cooking over campfires, and relaxing.

This past weekend, Scouts from Troop 301 and Troop 154 embarked on an exciting adventure to Block Island. The troops took the ferry over to the picturesque island, beginning their journey by biking to their campsites with all their gear in tow.

Once they had made camp, the Scouts spent their days exploring Block Island's many trails, beaches, and scenic areas. They fished off the beach and pier, trying their luck at catching some of the island's bountiful marine life. In the evenings, they cooked over the campfire and participated in lively campfire programs.

"This was an amazing trip for our Scouts," said one parent who joined as a chaperone for the weekend. "They got to experience camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and the great outdoors in one of New England's most beautiful settings. They worked together, made memories, and had a blast."
