BEDFORD, NY — If you're wondering what all the hullaballoo and film crews in Bedford are about this weekend, it's because Martha Stewart is having a garage sale on Saturday and Sunday — and even something as mundane as cleaning out the attic to get rid of junk becomes an extravaganza when the 80-year-old lifestyle guru is involved.

Tickets range from $25 to $250. However, if you didn't get your ticket yet, it is probably too late. Those who did manage to get their hands on a ticket will get the chance to peer about Martha Stewart's estate in Bedford and might just come home with a few keepsakes with interesting stories behind them.

"There will be something for everyone at the Great American Tag Sale," Stewart said, promoting the one-weekend-only event. "I'm selling thousands of items — furniture, tableware, kitchenware, textiles, lighting, bedding, rugs, vintage, antiques, lightly used, and so much more."

The proceeds from the sale will go toward the Martha Stewart Centers for Living at NYC's Mount Sinai. Stewart was inspired by her mother, Martha Kostyra, who lived to the ripe old age of 93, to found the center on the Upper East Side to create an innovative model of comprehensive care for older adults.

"Over the years, I've collected thousands of wonderful things for my homes and my workplaces. Now I am ready to share a curated selection of items at my first ever Tag/Garage/Yard/Estate/Get-Rid-Of-It Sale," Stewart said. "You'll find a magnificent assortment of 'This and that', including items of furniture, tableware, art, linens, clothing, plants, decorations, holiday, kitchen, and more. Please come, contribute, and buy. We want no leftovers."

Lucky ticket holders will park at John Jay Homestead on Jay Street in Katonah and then take a shuttle to Martha Stewart's farm. If you are in fact one of those few fortunate ticket holders, don't forget to bring shopping bags, packing materials, ID, your ticket and your vaccination record.

For those who won't have the chance to pore over Stewart's belongings and haggle over the price of old photo albums, a one-hour special about the event — "The Great American Tag Sale with Martha Stewart" — will air on ABC on May 25.
