Mayer Will Hand Out Free COVID Test Kits Ahead Of Holiday Gatherings

BEDFORD HILLS, NY — COVID-19 may be forgotten, but it isn't gone. One elected official has a plan to help keep constituents safe as families make plans for Passover and Easter celebrations.

New York State Sen. Shelley Mayer announced today that her office will be distributing almost 5,000 free COVID-19 test kits across the region.

There will be a limit of two test kits per household while supplies last. Each kit contains two at-home antigen rapid tests.

“Thank you to Governor Kathy Hochul for making these tests available to New Yorkers," Mayer said. "To keep transmission rates low, we must remain vigilant. I encourage my neighbors to take the steps to protect their loved ones from COVID-19, including testing before attending holiday parties."
