Popular Grocery Store Coming To Bedford; Could Open Next Month

Though the chain hasn't announced an official opening date yet, The Journal News reported it plans to open in March.

BEDFORD, NY — Popular local grocery store chain DeCicco & Sons has chosen Bedford for its 10th location — and it could open its doors as soon as next month.

DeCicco & Sons is moving in to the former Key Foods Marketplace (422 Old Post Road, Bedford), The Journal News reported. It has yet to announce an official opening date on its Facebook page, but The Journal News said in mid-January that it has tentative plans to open in March.

The grocery store describes itself on Facebook as "your destination for specialty and gourmet groceries, as well as all of your everyday needs."

"We offer a full-service deli, chopped salad station, coffee and juice bar, bakery, fresh sushi, fully staffed butcher and seafood department, and beer," the description reads.

DeCicco & Sons has promoted the amenities at its Bedford store on Facebook, and among them are a bar with 16 taps of craft beer, a sushi department and a cheese department.

In advance of its opening date, the grocery store is hiring for all departments — including grocery, kitchen, pizza, salad prep, cashier, bakery and more.

DeCicco & Sons was founded in 1973 as a small store in the Bronx and has since expanded to Putnam and Westchester Counties, according to the company's website.

It currently has locations in Ardsley, Armonk, Brewster, Eastchester, Harrison, Larchmont, Millwood, Pelham and Somers.
