UPDATED Snow Totals: Hudson Valley Nor'Easter

Temperatures are expected to rise into the 20s on Sunday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The region's residents were able to dig or sweep the powdery snow delivered in a glancing blow by the storm that reached blizzard heights over eastern Long Island and Western Connecticut Saturday.

NYSEG reported 1,116 customers in northeastern Westchester out of power, most in North Salem. The utility company estimated most would be back in service Saturday evening. Con Ed reported only four customers out of power in Westchester, in West Harrison, and estimated they would also be back in service Saturday evening.

Westchester County Police reported more than a dozen disabled vehicles on the parkways, which were snow-covered but open all day. Interstate 95 did close for a time after two trucks crashed in the storm. SEE: 2 Overturned Semitrailers Close Stretch Of New England Thruway

The NWS confirmed that the storm hit blizzard level across eastern Long Island and in Connecticut. Islip Airport reported 22.4 inches of snow by 1 p.m. Winds were clocked in Stony Brook at 60 mph.

The bitter cold and gusty winds accompanying the storm resulted in dangerous wind chills through Saturday in the Hudson Valley. Sunday temperatures are expected to moderate, up in the 20s during the day, with lows in the single digits at night.
