HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Are you used to the heat and humidity yet? You can expect more of the same over the next few days, as the region stays in the upper 80s with high humidity.

Thrown into the mix Wednesday are hazardous weather outlooks because of the possibility of thunderstorms and tornadoes.

"Another hot day with more humidity than yesterday is expected today across the Hudson Valley," said Kyle Kisslinger of Hudson Valley Weather. "Highs in the upper 80s, approaching 90 along with dew points in the low 70s will result in an uncomfortable air mass."

He said the heat indices will range between 90 and 95 degrees in the valley locations.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the hazardous weather will consist of an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm during Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. The primary threats will be damaging winds and large hail and the possibility of a weak tornado.

From later afternoon into the evening, a more organized line of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible, with the main threats being damaging wind gusts and possibly a weak tornado.

In the mid-Hudson Valley, a heat advisory is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday

There is also a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon into the night for eastern Ulster and western Dutchess counties. The weather service said the main threat will be damaging winds 58 mph or greater.

There could be large hail 1 inch in diameter or greater. An isolated tornado is also possible.

With the thunderstorms, we can expect some heavy rainfall, which may cause poor drainage flooding of low-lying areas. Isolated flash flooding is possible as well.
