Troop 154 Celebrates Scout Achievements at Spring Court of Honor

Troop 154 celebrates scouting milestones under the sunset at Fox Valley Park!

Last night, Troop 154 held their spring Court of Honor at the Fox Valley Park pavilion as the sunset over the park. The scouts prepared the venue by hanging lights, setting up food tables, and a projection screen to showcase highlights since their last Court of Honor in February.

Scoutmaster Rich Perlman recognized the many rank advancements and merit badges the scouts had earned over the past few months. He also honored the adult leaders who are currently participating in Wood Badge training to further their scouting leadership skills.

A special moment came when Eagle Scout Daniel G. was presented with an American flag that had flown over the United States Capitol in his honor, recognizing his incredible achievement of earning scouting's highest rank. Daniel then presented the mentor pin to the person who helped you achieve Eagle: Assistant Scoutmaster Georg Dauterman.

Finally, all the Troop committee members - parents who volunteer their time - were recognized for their tireless efforts ensuring that the youth have the training, resources and support they need to run the youth lead troop.

After the awards ceremony, the troop shared a slideshow of pictures recounting their adventures since February. Camping trips like the Star Wars Themed Camporee, Block Island Campout and No Stoves Campout were highlighted, along with photos from various Eagle Scout service projects undertaken by the older scouts.

It was a beautiful evening celebrating the skills, achievements, and adventures of Troop 154 as they continue to exemplify the values of scouting. The Court of Honor marked another milestone for these young people on the trail to becoming responsible, participatory citizens.

With summer now here, many scouts have big plans ahead. Several Life Scouts will be working on their Eagle projects, while others are taking summer jobs as lifeguards, camp counselors, and in various workplaces. A large contingent is also looking forward to attending a scout summer camp, with a few older scouts making the trek to Philmont High Adventure base.
