Westchester County's Spooktacular Oktoberfest Is Nigh

Tickets are on sale now for the annual event that is adorable with just the right amount of Halloween horrible.

CROSS RIVER, NY —The Westchester County Department of Parks put out a call for all ghouls and goblins to wear their Halloween costumes and visit the Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation for a Spooktacular Oktoberfest.

The creepy, crawly fun will take place on Saturday, October 28, from 1 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, October 29.

"The Spooktacular Oktoberfest is one of Westchester’s most unique Halloween activities as it utilizes the picturesque grounds of Ward Pound Ridge Reservation," Westchester County Executive George Latimer said. "There are a slew of activities and refreshments for people of all ages to enjoy."

Tickets are on sale now, at $25 per person. Children ages 3 and under are free.

Tickets include entry to all activities and the food and drink section.

Everyone is invited to come in their Halloween costumes.

Children's activities, which will end at 6 p.m., will include trick-or-treating, the Haunted Sugar Shack, a petting zoo and snacks. Be sure to bring cash for photos and pony rides.

The Oktoberfest section will feature live music and food trucks, including Captain Lawrence, Bona Bona and more.

"After the success of last year’s Spooktacular Oktoberfest, I’m excited to welcome visitors back to this year’s," Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said. "I’m proud of the staff for planning another fun event for everyone to enjoy."

There will be free parking at the event.

Trailside Nature Museum is located at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River at the junction of Routes 35 and 121 South in Cross River.
