CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A Central Islip business announced it would relocate to Queens, affecting 75 workers, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, filed with the New York State Department of Labor.

Creatively Designed Products LLC, a producer of housewares and proprietary bath products located at 250 Creative Dr., announced the changes on Thursday.

Bob Weiss, chief operating officer for the company, told Patch they will move operations to Little Neck on May 1 to improve supply chain logistics and better support customers.

The company will use a third party logistic partnership that which customers should "immediately feel a positive impact to operations" and service levels.

He also said that the location will be closer to most of the "major arteries" of highways.

"It's going to be actually better for our customers, as far as expenses for shipping and such," he said.

Weiss said Creatively Designed does not wish to see its employees go, and 20 to 25 supervisory office positions will be available at the Little Neck facility. The company will give a tour of the new location to current employees next week, he said.

The company will also provide assistance in job placement with local companies near or in Central Islip for the remaining personal who will not be part of the transition or elect not to move.

The employees are not represented by a union, the WARN notice said.

Creative Designs purchased the Central Islip building in December 2021, formerly operated by Creative Bath.

"We expect continued growth, and we look forward to the improvements our new facility will bring our customers," Weiss said.
